The one about forklift wheels that kept increasing in size

A little while back, we had a call from an existing customer with a rather unusual query.

Workers at the company in question had noticed that the labels they used were no longer sticking, and were simply falling to the floor with no obvious explanation. Our team headed over to the factory to see what was going on.

Something clearly wrong

Once we arrived at the factory, we were immediately shocked at the number of labels that were covering the floor of the warehouse. Our contact at the company was puzzled as to why the labels had suddenly stopped sticking, but then we noticed something even more peculiar.

We’re gonna need a bigger warehouse

The company we were dealing with had a fleet of forklift trucks that would usually be whizzing around the factory floor with the drivers going about their business. On this occasion, though, the wheels of the trucks appeared to have almost doubled in size. The wheels had been picking up the labels that were covering the floor, forcing the forklift operators to stop regularly to remove them.

Finding a solution

After asking a couple of questions, we realised that the customer had recently changed the surface that the labels were sticking to, opting for an eco-friendly material. While this may have been a well-intentioned move, it had caused the labels to stop sticking and sparked chaos in the warehouse. Inform Products were then able to source a new material with a stronger adhesive that we printed and supplied to the customer. We still wonder how long it took to clean the factory floor and the forklift wheels…
